Professional Limited Liability Corporation
We believe a PLLC or Professional Limited Liability Corporation is the best option for most solo practitioners. This is because it allows you to protect your personal assets in most cases, although malpractice insurance is still a must. It also provides flexible taxation options and fewer maintenance requirements than a PC. PLLCs are used by a range of providers including MDs and NPs. That said, not every state allows for a PLLC. We're happy to help you figure out whether this is an option for you.

Get StartedProfessional Corporation
A PC or Professional Corporation is a great choice for high-income individuals or groups who can take advantage of a beneficial corporate tax rate and are comfortable with more management and reporting requirements. PCs also protect their owners' personal assets, although malpractice insurance is a must. And, every state allows for a PC although requirements vary. This is a common structure used by MDs, and in certain states, NPs.

Get StartedFriendly PC Model (or Dual Entity MSO-PC)
The MSO-PC model, also known as the "Friendly PC" model, is a great option if you want to retain 100% ownership of your practice while leveraging the expertise of a supervising physician or medical director. This is a common structure PAs and RNs use when setting up their own practices. It is also the most nuanced structure, and requires a thoughtful understanding of the structure and requirements. We can help you navigate this complex structure simply and quickly.
