Apply by emailAbout Prax
The U.S. is in the middle of a physician shortage crisis. One in four people lack access to essential frontline care — whether it's primary care, psychiatry, pediatrics, geriatrics, and others. And the shortage is only getting worse: we're on track to be 100,000 doctors short in the next decade. Nurse Practitioners (NPs) are stepping up to fill that gap. As the fastest-growing profession in healthcare, NPs are delivering essential care and starting independent practices to serve their communities. However, starting and running an independent practice has been a bureaucratic nightmare until now. Prax Health makes it seamless for NPs to start, run, and grow their own practices — from formation to scale. We're building the largest network of independent NPs, powered by the leading tech stack for independent providers. If you're passionate about making a real impact in healthcare, let's talk.
The Role
Prax Health is hiring a Sales Representative to drive growth by connecting with Nurse Practitioners and helping them understand how Prax can transform their journey to independent practice. This is a consultative sales role where you'll engage prospects, understand their unique needs, and guide them through our solution. You'll be working with innovative technology in a fast-growing startup environment, serving as a trusted advisor to healthcare providers who are building their own practices. Success in this role requires equal parts technical savvy, consultative selling skills, and genuine passion for improving healthcare access. This is an opportunity to be an early sales team member at a mission-driven company, where your work directly enables providers to deliver essential care to underserved communities.
What You'll Be Doing
- Engage with prospective Nurse Practitioners through outbound outreach, inbound inquiries, and warm referrals
- Conduct discovery calls to understand provider needs, challenges, and practice goals
- Deliver consultative, educational sales presentations that connect our platform capabilities to provider pain points
- Guide prospects through the sales process from initial contact through close
- Partner with internal teams (operations, product, customer success) to ensure smooth handoffs and address prospect questions
- Navigate our tech stack efficiently, including CRM (HubSpot), communication tools, and product demos
- Maintain accurate pipeline data and provide regular forecasting and reporting
- Contribute to evolving our sales playbook, refining messaging, and identifying what resonates with different provider segments
- Adapt quickly as we iterate on our go-to-market strategy in a dynamic startup environment
- Become an expert on NP practice formation laws, regulations, and nuances across all 50 states
What You'll Bring
Must-haves:
- Sales fundamentals: 1-3+ years of sales experience with demonstrated success (B2B, SaaS, or services preferred)
- Consultative approach: natural curiosity and ability to uncover needs, ask thoughtful questions, and position solutions (not just pitch features)
- Tech-savvy: comfort learning and navigating new software platforms, demoing technology products, and speaking credibly about digital solutions
- Intelligence and adaptability: quick learner who can absorb healthcare nuances, understand complex provider workflows, and think on your feet
- Startup mentality: entrepreneurial mindset, comfort with ambiguity, and willingness to roll up your sleeves across various tasks
- Positive, resilient attitude: optimistic approach to challenges, rejection, and the ups and downs of early-stage sales
- Work ethic and flexibility: self-motivated, organized, and comfortable with a flexible schedule that may include occasional evening or weekend touchpoints with prospects
- Clear communication: strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to build rapport and trust quickly
- Highly organized: disciplined systems to manage multiple moving priorities and ensure consistent follow-through on commitments
- Must have permanent authorization to work in the U.S.
Bonus points for:
- Experience in healthcare, health tech, or selling to clinical audiences
- Familiarity with Nurse Practitioners, practice operations, or healthcare workflows
- Background in early-stage startups or high-growth environments
- Experience with HubSpot or similar CRM platforms
- Track record of exceeding quota or sales targets
What We'll Provide
- Competitive salary, commission structure, and equity based on experience at a well-funded, venture-backed, values-driven startup
- High-trust culture that embraces flexibility and real-time collaboration
- Medical, dental, vision, generous PTO, and a company laptop
- A no-ego team that lives our values: integrity, provider-first focus, urgent execution, curiosity, and enjoying the journey
- Opportunity to build and shape the sales function as an early team member

Nurse Practitioner: Strategic Partnerships & Growth Manager
Growth · San Francisco preferred, Remote considered (US) · Full-time
Apply by emailAbout Prax
The U.S. is in the middle of a physician shortage crisis.
The Role
We're hiring a nurse practitioner to set up partnerships, lead events, and build community for Prax. You'll be the face of Prax to the organizations where NPs gather: national and state nursing associations, online communities and forums, NP educators and influencers, and partner companies serving NPs. You'll build and run the programs that drive brand awareness and bring new NPs into the Prax world: webinars, conference talks, co-marketed events, referral partnerships, and a community of prospective practice owners. You'll drive the conversation in online NP communities on Facebook, Instagram, Reddit, NP school forums and more. You will identify and work with NP content creators and influencers to grow brand awareness for Prax in a strategic and meaningful way.
What You'll Be Doing
Association & organization partnerships:
- Set up and grow relationships with national, state, and local nursing organizations (e.g., ANA, AANP, state and local NP associations), as well as nursing schools and NP programs, from first outreach through signed partnership and ongoing programming.
- Develop co-branded programs in partnership with the Prax marketing team, including CE-eligible webinars, conference sessions, newsletter features, and member-benefit offerings.
- Build partner relationships with companies serving NPs (collaborating-physician networks, malpractice insurance vendors, education platforms, and similar) including referral and co-marketing programs.
Webinars & events:
- Build and run a recurring webinar program featuring Prax clinicians and successful practice owners from our network, on topics like starting your own practice, insurance for NPs, and building your patient panel.
- Represent Prax at NP conferences and association events as a speaker and exhibitor; secure speaking slots and prep fellow presenters.
- Own event logistics including content, promotion, registration, follow-up, and pipeline handoff to the sales team.
Community & brand awareness:
- Identify and grow Prax's presence in the online spaces where NPs research practice ownership (Facebook groups, Reddit, forums, and newsletters) with authentic, clinician-to-clinician engagement.
- Build community among prospective NP practice owners, creating spaces and programs that add value to them and bring them closer to Prax (e.g., webinar topics, in-person dinners).
- Partner with our growth team on content and campaigns, bringing your clinical perspective to everything we do.
Measurement:
- Track what works: registrations, attendance, leads, and new NPs who start from each partnership and event. Double down on the highest-performing channels.
- Ultimately, your goal is to make Prax the company NPs turn to when they're ready to start their own practice. You'll measure that in signups: high-quality clinicians who come to Prax through your partnerships, events, and community efforts.
What You'll Bring
- Licensed Nurse Practitioner (active license; any state) with 2+ years of NP clinical experience.
- Practice ownership (current or previous) is valued.
- Demonstrated leadership in a clinical or business setting, with experience in one or more of: leading teams or programs (clinical manager, lead NP), business development, partnerships, community building, education/speaking, or marketing.
- A natural relationship-builder who's comfortable cold-emailing an association director, hosting a webinar for 1,000 attendees, and jumping into an online forum thread, all in the same week.
- Confident public speaker and clear writer who can translate the business of practice ownership into language clinicians trust.
- Passionate about NP autonomy and practice ownership. You believe NPs should own their futures, and it shows.
What We'll Provide
- Competitive salary and equity in a fast-growing company.
- Medical, dental, vision, PTO (and company holidays on all Federal holidays).
- The chance to help thousands of NPs become practice owners.
- Experienced leadership team with deep startup and healthcare operating experience, including early leaders from One Medical, DaVita, and Instacart.
How To Apply
Send your resume and a short note about a community, event, or partnership you've built to [email protected]. We'd especially love to hear about your own connection to the NP community.

Operations & Process Manager, Practice Formation
Operations · San Francisco · Full-time
Apply by emailAbout Prax
The U.S. is in the middle of an access to care crisis. One in four people lack access to essential frontline care: primary care, psychiatry, pediatrics, geriatrics, and more. Nurse Practitioners (NPs) are stepping in to fill that gap. As the fastest-growing profession in healthcare, NPs deliver essential care, and due to changing regulations, are setting up independent practices to serve their communities. However, starting and running an independent practice has been a bureaucratic nightmare. Until now. Prax Health makes it seamless for NPs to start, run, and grow their own practices, from formation to scale. We're building the largest network of independent NPs, powered by a transformative tech stack.
The Role
This is a rare chance to own an entire function end to end, from near a standing start, with direct line of sight to the COO and real influence on whether Prax scales. If you want out of the spreadsheet and into the operation, this is that seat. Prax is hiring an Operations and Process Manager to own practice formation: the process, the outcomes, and the team that delivers it. Practice formation is where NPs set up real, independent practices, filing articles of incorporation with state agencies, registering with state Medical and Nursing Boards, and corresponding with the IRS. We are growing fast and need a sharp, ambitious, process-minded operator to build the system that lets us scale and to lead the team that runs it. This is a hands-on role. You will design the process, implement it, and manage the team that runs it day to day, a pod of talented contractors who owns entity work. You will partner directly with engineering to automate every step that can be automated. And because these are anxious, first-time practice owners, you will own not just the process but the provider's experience of it.
What You'll Be Doing
- Own the practice formation process — Design, document, and enforce the end-to-end workflow from customer sign-up through practice launch, including incorporation filings, state Medical and Nursing Board registrations, and IRS steps, so it runs consistently without escalation.
- Own the provider experience — Make practice formation feel clear, responsive, and reassuring for first-time practice owners, and set the standard for how the team communicates.
- Manage the team — Lead and develop the practice formation team, including a contractor pod, setting clear expectations, workload, and quality standards.
- Own the source of truth — Make sure provider status, tasks, and communications are tracked accurately across HubSpot, Airtable, and internal tools, so that nothing falls through the cracks.
- Drive throughput and quality — Manage to clear operational metrics, turnaround time, on-time completion, and communication quality, and fix root causes rather than symptoms.
- Coordinate the handoffs — Partner with credentialing, EHR, growth, and the onboarding coordinator so providers move cleanly from practice formation into the rest of onboarding.
- Partner with product and engineering — Translate operational needs into requirements, and help productize and automate manual workflows as Prax scales.
- Manage state and regulatory nuance — Build the team's playbooks for state-specific requirements so the operation scales into new states while maintaining or improving rigor.
What You'll Bring
- 1 to 4 years in a high-intensity, analytical environment such as consulting, investment banking, private equity, or operations at a high-growth startup
- Competitive and self-motivated, you set a higher bar for yourself than anyone sets for you, and you love owning an outcome
- You make decisions with data and can defend them, and you build the metrics when they do not exist yet
- Empathetic and genuinely people-oriented, you lead a team well and care deeply about the customer's experience
- Proven ability to take a messy, ad hoc workflow and turn it into a clearly defined, documented, reliable operation
- Genuine interest in managing people, including remote or offshore teams. This role offers immediate management opportunities
- Highly proactive, self-directed, and persistent, you run through walls to get things done
- Comfortable across data, ops, and product, and eager to use the latest tools
- Interest in healthcare is required; healthcare or regulated-industry experience is a plus
- A sense of humor and a low ego
What Success Looks Like in 12 Months
- Practice formation runs on a documented, repeatable process
- Faster time to launch: median days from sign-up to formed entity and practice launch trending down, tracked by state
- Filing quality: a high first-pass acceptance rate on incorporations and board registrations, with rework and rejections trending down
- Strong provider experience: CSAT and NPS at or above target, with communications that are consistent and timely
- A high-performing, well-managed team with clear standards and accountability
- Key workflows automated or productized in partnership with product and engineering
What We'll Provide
- Competitive salary and equity based on experience at a well-funded, mission-driven, venture-backed startup
- Experienced leadership team with deep startup and healthcare operating experience, including early leaders from Instacart and One Medical
- Low-ego, values-driven team focused on integrity, provider-first thinking, results, curiosity, and enjoying the journey
- Medical, dental, vision, PTO

Provider Launch Specialist, Medical Group
The Role
Prax Health is hiring a Provider Launch Specialist to own one of the most important moments in a provider's journey: getting them from the day they join to the day they see their first patient. Today that path runs through entity formation, credentialing, EHR setup, and growth as disconnected steps, and providers fall through the cracks. You are the person who turns it into one seamless, well-run launch. This is a high-ownership, high-visibility role. You own the schedule, the follow-ups, and the momentum, so every provider always knows their next step and no internal team is left chasing. You do not need to be the expert on billing, credentialing, or the EHR; you make sure the right expert is looped in at the right time and that nothing stalls. And because these are anxious, first-time practice owners, you own how the whole experience feels to them, not just whether the boxes get checked. This role is distinct from support, which handles reactive questions, and from provider success, which owns the post-go-live ramp. You own the path to go-live, and you are measured on how fast and how smoothly providers get there.
What You'll Be Doing
- Own the launch — Shepherd each new provider from medical group payment to first patient, owning the overall timeline and keeping every workstream moving in parallel.
- Run the kickoff and cadence — Hold a welcome call that orients the provider to the process and their responsibilities, then meet with them on a set cadence to keep them on track.
- Schedule everything — Book the provider into every required step, credentialing intake, EHR setup and training, billing orientation, growth, and go-live, so they never have to figure out what comes next.
- Chase what's missing — Proactively collect the items that block progress, including CAQH completion, licenses, DEA, e-prescribing documentation, and collaborating physician agreements, with clear deadlines.
- Coordinate clean handoffs — Move providers between internal teams with full context so no one is dropped between credentialing, EHR, growth, and success.
- Keep the source of truth current — Track every provider's status and next step in HubSpot and internal trackers so anyone can see where a provider stands at a glance.
- Drive to milestones — Hold providers and internal teams accountable to time-to-first-patient and time-to-first-claim, escalating early when a provider is at risk of stalling.
- Improve the playbook — Turn what you learn into repeatable checklists and process improvements as Prax productizes the onboarding journey.
What You'll Bring
- 1 to 3 years in a customer-facing, onboarding, operations, or project coordination role, healthcare a plus
- Deeply organized with relentless follow-through, you can hold dozens of providers at different stages without dropping one
- A warm, clear communicator who keeps busy providers moving without friction, and who genuinely cares how the experience feels to them
- An owner: you take personal responsibility for the outcome and chase the loose thread rather than waiting for it to resolve itself
- Self-motivated and competitive with yourself, you like being measured on a clear goal and beating it
- Comfortable coordinating across multiple internal teams and tools, and keeping a single source of truth current
- Comfort with HubSpot or a similar CRM, trackers, and checklists
- You thrive in a fast-paced, high-change startup environment
What Success Looks Like
- Time to first patient and time to first claim reduced against baseline
- High activation rate: providers who join actually reach go-live and see patients, with few stalling or going dormant
- High percentage of providers hitting onboarding milestones on schedule
- Strong provider task-completion and responsiveness rates
- Clean handoffs, with no providers stalled between teams
- Strong provider onboarding satisfaction (CSAT and NPS)
What We'll Provide
- Competitive salary and equity based on experience at a well-funded, mission-driven, venture-backed startup
- Experienced leadership team with deep startup and healthcare operating experience, including early leaders from Instacart and One Medical
- Low-ego, values-driven team focused on integrity, provider-first thinking, results, curiosity, and enjoying the journey
- Medical, dental, vision, PTO
How To Apply
Please email [email protected] and include your resume and/or LinkedIn profile. Include a short note telling us about a time you owned something complex end to end and kept a person or customer on track to the finish line. We review every application personally. Looking forward to meeting you!

EHR Enablement Specialist
Operations · San Francisco · Full-time
Apply by emailAbout Prax
The U.S. is in the middle of an access to care crisis. One in four people lack access to essential frontline care: primary care, psychiatry, pediatrics, geriatrics, and more. Nurse Practitioners (NPs) are stepping in to fill that gap. As the fastest-growing profession in healthcare, NPs deliver essential care, and due to changing regulations, are setting up independent practices to serve their communities. Prax Health makes it seamless for NPs to start, run, and grow their own practices, from formation to scale. We're building the largest network of independent NPs, powered by a transformative tech stack.
The Role
You are the person who gets providers truly live: set up on the Prax EHR and confident enough to see patients and prescribe from day one. You own the technical setup and the hands-on enablement, the account build, e-prescribing activation, the orientation call, and the follow-up trainings that turn a configured instance into a provider who can chart, sign, and submit with confidence. It is the moment the whole onboarding journey has been building toward, and you own whether it lands. You focus on the EHR specifically. Providers come to you from the Provider Launch Specialist once they are ready for setup, and you hand them to the Success team once they are live and ramping. You are part of a small EHR onboarding team, adding capacity and depth so no provider waits on setup and no critical knowledge sits with a single person.
What You'll Be Doing
- Configure new EHR instances — Set up accounts, user access, practice location, signature, telehealth links, and payment configuration for each new provider.
- Activate e-prescribing — Turn on EPCS and coordinate SPI, DrFirst, and Surescripts enrollment.
- Verify readiness — Confirm provider enrollment, SPI assignment, EPCS activation, and required profile details before a provider sees patients or prescribes.
- Set up collaborating physicians — Create collaborating physician profiles where required by state.
- Run trainings — Lead EHR orientation calls and the follow-up and go-live trainings that build day-to-day confidence.
- Coach the full encounter — Walk providers through a complete visit, from registration and templating to charting, signing, and submitting a clean claim.
- Build enablement materials — Create and maintain help guides and how-to resources so training scales beyond one-to-one sessions.
- Coordinate and document — Partner on handoffs, update SOPs, log status in HubSpot and Linear, and escalate deeper technical troubleshooting and customization work.
What You'll Bring
- 0 to 3 years in healthcare operations, practice administration, EHR support, or a related coordination or training role
- A natural teacher, you can make a complex system simple and meet providers where they are
- Patient and empathetic, you keep anxious, first-time providers calm and confident
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple active setups at once without dropping details
- Tech-comfortable and a fast learner, you pick up new software quickly and troubleshoot without hand-holding
- Detail-oriented with relentless follow-through, you own an item until it is fully done
- Clear written and verbal communication, comfortable working directly with clinical providers
- Proficiency with Google Workspace
- Hands-on experience with EHRs and provider training is a plus
What Success Looks Like
- Faster time to go-live: average days from EHR kickoff to live trending down
- More providers fully set up and prescribing-ready on schedule, with e-prescribing and EPCS activated without rework
- Providers reach go-live able to chart, sign, and submit a clean claim independently
- A growing library of training materials and help guides that lets onboarding scale beyond one-to-one sessions

Please email [email protected] and include your resume and/or LinkedIn profile. Include a short note telling us about a time you taught someone something technical or made a complicated process simple, and why you want to work with providers. Senior Software Engineer
Engineering · Remote (US) · Full-time
Apply by emailAbout Prax
The U.S. is in the middle of an access to care crisis. We're building the largest network of independent NPs, powered by a transformative tech stack, including our own EHR, built from scratch, in Rust.
The Role
We're building a FHIR-native electronic health record system in Rust and Dioxus. Providers are charting, scheduling, prescribing, and running their practices on it today. The codebase is a 45-crate Rust workspace covering everything from FHIR resource management to clinical decision support to e-prescribing.
We need another senior engineer to build and ship. The work spans the whole system: Dioxus UI, Axum services, the Postgres data layer, WASM performance, and the integrations with healthcare systems that providers depend on.
You don't need Rust on your resume. We care that you've shipped serious production software, that you're genuinely fast with agentic coding tools, and that you want to write Rust. If you've been looking for the excuse to work in it full time on a product that matters, this is that job.
The team is small. You'll own large pieces of the system end to end, and you'll see them in front of real providers within days.
What You'll Be Doing
- Ship full-stack features. UI, backend logic, data modeling, and integration work, owned start to finish.
- Build the clinical interface. Dioxus components with server-side rendering and WASM.
- Build backend services. Axum and Postgres via sqlx, built to hold up under real clinical use.
- Integrate the healthcare stack. Labs, e-prescribing, eligibility, and clinical data exchange.
- Make it fast. WASM bundle size, query performance, caching.
- Meet the certification bar. SMART on FHIR, accessibility, and the ONC certification work ahead of us.
- Work agent-first. We lean heavily on agentic coding tools, and you'll help set how this team uses them.
What You'll Bring
- A senior track record of shipping and owning production software. The language doesn't matter: Rust, Go, TypeScript, Ruby, Python, C++, Java, whatever you've done well.
- Real fluency with agentic development tools (Claude Code or similar). We use them every day and expect you to be effective with them.
- Genuine appetite for Rust. Production Rust is welcome. Wanting to write it every day is the part we need.
- Comfort across the full stack. You'll touch UI, API, database, and infrastructure.
- Systems thinking: crate architecture, trait design, and data flow across a large workspace.
- Engineering judgment. This is a startup, not a research project. You know when to build the durable thing and when to ship and revisit.
- Care about the people on the other end. Providers are running their livelihoods on this software.
Nice To Have
- Production Rust, or work with Dioxus, Leptos, or Yew
- Axum, Tower, or the broader Tokio ecosystem
- WASM compilation and optimization
- Healthcare, FHIR, or EHR experience
- Multi-tenant systems with hard data isolation requirements
- WebAuthn and passkeys
- Contributions to Rust ecosystem projects
Our Hiring Process
- Intro conversation with Nick, our CTO and co-founder, who built the EHR.
- A 90-minute take-home in Rust and Dioxus. Bring whatever agents you use day to day. The challenge assumes you will.
- A technical conversation about what you built: why you made the choices you did, and what you rewrote from what your agent handed you.
- Conversations with the rest of the team, then an offer.
If you haven't written Rust before, you'll be reading docs during the take-home. We expect that. How you work through it tells us more than what you already knew.
What We'll Provide
- Competitive salary and equity at a well-funded, mission-driven, venture-backed startup
- Remote-first and flexible. We care about what ships.
Please email [email protected] with your resume and/or LinkedIn, plus a link to your GitHub or anything you've built. Include a short note about the hardest thing you've shipped and why Rust interests you. We review every application personally. Looking forward to meeting you.

Full-Stack Rails Engineer
Engineering · Remote (US) · Full-time
Apply by emailAbout Prax
The U.S. is in the middle of an access to care crisis. We're a seed-stage company with real revenue from real providers, and the engineering team is small, senior, and ships constantly.
The Role
We need a full-stack Rails engineer on the core Prax platform, the product that carries a provider from signing up to running a practice. The stack is a Turborepo monorepo: a Rails 7 API backend, several Next.js frontends (provider dashboard, patient portal, marketing site), shared TypeScript packages, and a growing agent layer built on the Claude Agent SDK. Postgres, Solid Queue for background jobs, React and Tailwind on the frontend.
This is a production application serving real customers today. You'll own features end to end. One week you're building an insurance eligibility flow, the next you're integrating a payer API or rebuilding an internal operations tool.
The platform would be yours to own, which is what lets the rest of the team go deep on our EHR. The scope is real and it comes with the job.
What You'll Be Doing
- Build provider-facing features. Onboarding workflows, credentialing, and practice management dashboards.
- Own insurance and billing. Payer APIs, eligibility checks, and claims processing.
- Build internal operations tools. The software our clinical and ops teams run the business on.
- Extend the agent layer. We use Claude extensively, including as a product feature.
- Keep the plumbing solid. Background jobs, data pipelines, and third-party integrations.
- Run it in production. Infrastructure and deployment on Render.
What You'll Bring
- Strong Ruby on Rails experience, 3+ years in production applications.
- Comfortable with React, Next.js, and TypeScript on the frontend.
- Pragmatic about shipping. We'd rather have it working in production than perfectly abstracted in a PR.
- Experience with Postgres, background jobs, and API integrations.
- Real fluency with agentic development tools (Claude Code or similar). We expect engineers to use them daily and to be thoughtful about when and how.
- Good instincts for code organization, testing, and maintainability.
- Able to work independently and communicate clearly on a remote, async-first team.
Nice To Have
- Healthcare or regulated-industry experience
- Stripe, HubSpot, or PostHog integrations
- Monorepo tooling (Turborepo, pnpm workspaces)
- Comfort with infrastructure (Docker, CI/CD, Pulumi)
Our Hiring Process
We don't do whiteboard interviews. Our process:
- Short intro conversation with Nick, our CTO and co-founder.
- A practical take-home Rails challenge, about 90 minutes, drawn from real Prax work.
- Team conversations with our CEO and the engineering team.
- Offer.
What We'll Provide
- Competitive salary and equity at a well-funded, mission-driven, venture-backed startup
- Remote-first and flexible. We care about what ships.
- Experienced leadership team with deep startup and healthcare operating experience, including early leaders from Instacart and One Medical
- Low-ego, values-driven team focused on integrity, provider-first thinking, results, curiosity, and enjoying the journey
- Medical, dental, vision, PTO

Apply by emailAbout Prax
The U.S. is in the middle of a physician shortage crisis. One in four people lack access to essential frontline care — primary care, psychiatry, pediatrics, geriatrics, and more — and we're on track to be 100,000 doctors short within the decade. Nurse Practitioners are stepping up to fill that gap, but starting and running an independent practice has been a bureaucratic nightmare.
Prax Health makes it seamless for NPs to start, run, and grow their own practices, from formation to scale. We're building the largest network of independent NPs, powered by the leading tech stack for independent providers.
The Role
We're hiring a Nurse Practitioner to join our sales team full-time. If you've been thinking about what comes after clinical practice — and want work that still touches patient care without the burnout of the bedside — this is a way to move into a commercial career without starting from zero. Your clinical background is the qualification.
You'll talk with NPs considering independent practice: understanding where they are, what's holding them back, and whether Prax is the right fit. It's consultative and educational, not scripted. Most of these conversations look like the one you've had with yourself about whether independence is possible.
No sales experience required. We'll teach you the commercial side — pipeline, discovery, closing. You already have the part that's hardest to teach: clinical credibility and the trust of your peers.
Why NPs Thrive In This Role
- A real career pivot. Commercial experience opens doors across health tech, and you'll build it from day one with full training and mentorship.
- Peer-to-peer credibility. Prospects trust a colleague who has done the work in a way they never will a career salesperson.
- Sustainable pace. No overnight shifts, no charting at midnight. Clear goals and a schedule you have real control over.
- Clinical impact at scale. Every provider you help launch serves a community that needs frontline care.
- Keep a foot in practice. Many of our NP team members hold occasional per-diem or PRN shifts. We support that.
What You'll Be Doing
- Connect with prospective NPs through outbound outreach, inbound inquiries, and warm referrals — including your own network
- Run discovery calls to understand each provider's clinical goals, practice ambitions, and obstacles
- Deliver consultative, educational presentations that connect our platform to real provider pain points
- Guide prospects from first contact through close, and partner with operations, product, and customer success on handoffs
- Work fluently in our tech stack — CRM (HubSpot), communication tools, and product demos — and keep pipeline data accurate
- Help shape our sales playbook and messaging; you'll know better than anyone what resonates with NPs
- Become an expert on NP practice formation laws and regulations across all 50 states
- Represent Prax at conferences, NP association events, and in online provider communities
What You'll Bring
Must-haves:
- Active or recent NP license and real patient-facing experience you can speak to, in any specialty
- Consultative instincts — curiosity, thoughtful questions, and listening for what someone actually needs; the same skills as a good clinical interview
- Clear communication in writing and on calls, with the ability to build rapport and trust quickly
- Tech comfort: eagerness to learn new software platforms and demo a technology product credibly
- Startup mentality — comfort with ambiguity, entrepreneurial mindset, willingness to roll up your sleeves
- Resilience and organization: an optimistic approach to rejection, and disciplined systems for consistent follow-through
- Flexibility for occasional evening or weekend touchpoints, since prospects are often practicing clinicians
- Permanent authorization to work in the U.S.
Bonus points for:
- Experience opening, running, or helping launch an independent practice
- Any prior sales, business development, or account management experience — helpful, but not required
- An active NP network, association involvement, or a visible presence in NP communities
- Precepting, teaching, or mentorship experience — much of this role is education
- Experience with HubSpot or a similar CRM
What We'll Provide
- Competitive salary, commission structure, and equity based on experience at a well-funded, venture-backed startup
- Full sales onboarding and ongoing coaching — we'll teach you the commercial side
- Medical, dental, vision, generous PTO, and a company laptop
- High-trust culture that embraces flexibility and real-time collaboration
- The chance to build and shape the sales function as an early team member, with direct access to the founding team
- A no-ego team that lives our values: integrity, provider-first focus, urgent execution, curiosity, and enjoying the journey
